The Albany County and Capital District Greens are co-sponsoring a forum on the 2 year anniverary of September 11th. It will take place at the Albany Public Library at 6 PM on Thurs. Sept. 11th.

Speakers will include from Green Party U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Joel Kovel; Capital District ACLU Director Melanie Trimble; and labor activist and former Green Gubernatorial candidate Stanley Aronowitz.

Two years after 3,000 people were killed on September 11, President Bush has successfully blocked an independent investigation into what actually happened. While there is mounting evidence that the ruling families in Saudi Arabia knowingly contributed funds to the terrorists, the Bush administration continues to protect them due to their oil. Many questions remain about the US government's response to warnings about the attack and to the hijackings on the day of. Many peace activists also believe that Bush's War on Terrorism, including his attacks on civil liberties (e.g., Patriot Act)was the wrong response.

The forum will also look at what steps the US could take to deal with 9/11 and its aftermath.
